The fifth / final year of a B-Arch program is a thesis project. Mine focused on the long-term transportation plans of the city of Rochester, NY as a model of intervention for a common type of post-industrial city. Developing the tools, templates, or recipe, to renew a city, just by reconnecting its edge to center. Reducing reliance on cars, and increasing transit and walking options as the driver of renewal.

I started with historic maps, added Geographic Information System (GIS) layers, and developed existing, 10-year & 50-year city maps, then designed a typical station and car for each mode of transportation. These images filled a wall at the final review, where all of the Architecture faculty I had spent 5 years working with asked tough questions.
